Skin lumps and bumps (lesions) are skin abnormalities that occur on the surface of their skin or inside the skin layers. These lumps and bumps can be easily removed via surgical excisions.
These lesions are primarily benign blemishes that are removed for aesthetic reasons. That said, occasionally these lumps and bumps can prove to be a sign of something more dangerous on deeper investigation, and worthy of deeper professional attention.
A lesion may be removed for several reasons, such as :
- It requires diagnosis
- It is cosmetically unattractive
- It is tender or prone to being knocked
- It is inflamed
- It is infected
We may occasionally decide that a lump, bump or mole looks as though it needs further investigation and here we would suggest that it be sent to the laboratory for analysis (histology). In these circumstances, the lump is surgically excised and immediately sent away for review. The results are normally returned to us within 5 working days.

Surgical Excision is effective for all lesions, such as:
- Lump and bumps removal
- Mole removal
- Cyst removal
- Lipoma removal
- Sebaceous cyst removal
