Radiofrequency works by heating the collagen fibres in the skin and the underlying tissue. This not only causes the tightening of existing collagen but also stimulates the production of new collagen which will continue to tighten the skin for several months after the treatment.

What conditions can be treated with Radiofrequency?
Thermage is particularly good at improving the appearance of jowls and loose skin around the jawline. As Thermage tightens the skin, it causes a natural lifting effect which improves the appearance of the jowls by giving the jawline definition again.
As with all radiofrequency procedures, the basic principle of treatment is the application of the Thermage tip to the skin, heating it and causing the collagen to contract and tighten, stimulating new collagen growth. It can be used on the skin around the eye, above and below the eyebrow, over the crow’s feet and temple area as well as the upper cheek. This makes it an excellent non-invasive treatment for hooded eyes.
Results are subtle and very natural looking. A stronger definition to the face can be achieved, lines and wrinkles are softened and skin is smoother.
Thermage can also be used to treat areas of cellulite on the body. A larger, specialised treatment tip causes heating of the skin and underlying superficial fat layers. Not only is the skin tightened and smoothed but a contouring effect is also achieved.
