Plexr for tired looking and heavy eyes
Plexr is a non-surgical procedure that can be used to improve the appearance of heavy eyes. As it can be performed without cutting or stitches, the procedure is non-invasive and only requires a topical numbing cream to be applied 30 minutes before the procedure starts.
During the procedure, the Plexr system creates a matrix of tiny dots on the area being treated. These dots change the superficial skin cells from a solid into a gas. This process happens without causing any bleeding or damage to surrounding tissue or superficial layers of the skin and stimulates an instant contraction and tightening of the skin.
The crusts that form come away naturally which usually takes between 5 to 7 days.
The procedure takes as little as 30 minutes to perform and most people see results immediately after the first procedure.
Tired and heavy eyes
Eyes are the focal part of the face and our most noted facial feature.
Heavy eyelids not only interfere with our vision but they can also give a tired and sad appearance.
Excess skin on the eyelids and around the eyes is a normal part of the ageing process.
As we age, collagen levels deplete. Put simply, collagen is a protein found in the muscles, tissues, bones and tendons. It gives the skin strength and structure. As supplies of collagen reduce, the skin starts to lose it’s elasticity. This decline becomes very noticeable from the age of 40 with a dramatic reduction seen in women after menopause.
Lifestyle choices such as sunbathing and smoking will also influence how your skin ages and how quickly.
Traditionally, the answer to tired and heavy eyes has been a surgical procedure known as Blepharoplasty. This is a very effective solution which can give a lovely improvement to the eye area. However, it is a surgical procedure performed under local or general anaesthetic and this can be off-putting for some.

The procedure is available at both our London and Guildford Clinic.
