Although I was very nervous for my first treatment, Vicki put me at ease and there after the treatments have gone very smoothly. I am very pleased with the results of Bio-skin jetting and would recommend it to anyone who didn't want to go down the road of fillers.

Bio Skin Jetting® is a natural way of softening lines and wrinkles without injecting foreign material into or under the skin. It is a subtle method that works by encouraging the body’s own natural collagen and elastin fibres to reproduce under facial lines or wrinkles to ‘plump’ them out and smoothing out the skin.
Ageing of the skin is a natural process that comes to us all. As the skin ages, the elasticity decreases and the skin wrinkles. This is most apparent on facial skin as the face is always exposed to the external environment and the hostile factors within it. In addition, as we use facial muscles constantly, the continual movement of the face can start to leave lines and wrinkles in certain areas - often across the forehead and around the eyes ('crow's feet'). In younger life, the skin is more elastic and better hydrated and so these wrinkles do not appear. With ageing, the skin loses moisture, collagen and elasticity, making the skin dryer and thinner and thus prone to wrinkling.
The BioSkin Jetting® method is a technique that works by encouraging the body's own natural collagen and elastin fibres to reproduce under the line or wrinkle being treated in order to give a plumping effect, thus smoothing the skin. By using a probe as described below, BioSkin Jetting® causes this natural stimulation which is therefore an alternative to injecting fillers such as hyaluronic acid or collagen.
The technique involves using a fine probe and inserting it just beneath the skin along the wrinkle. Using specified techniques, the probe stimulates the local circulation, encouraging blood flow, which brings oxygen and nutrients to the local cells to increase nourishment to the skin in that area. In addition, the treated area is filled with the body's own serum, meaning collagen and other natural proteins flood into this area.
As children we all have cells that produce collagen readily. As we grow into adulthood, these cells only become active when we are injured. Therefore, through very careful mimicking of injury using the BioSkin Jetting probe, we can kick start cells into producing collagen again.
As BioSkin Jetting® relies on the client's own natural healing process rather than injection of foreign materials, the results depend entirely on the client. Clearly, the healthier the client is and the better their skin nutrition and skin condition, the better the results. As everyone is different, the results of BioSkin Jetting® are going to vary widely between person to person.
There are also a number of other factors that affect the results. These include the depth of the wrinkle being treated, the health and lifestyle of the client and the age of the client. Smoking in particular reduces the efficacy of BioSkin Jetting®.
100% success can never be guaranteed (as with all medical treatment) but with BioSkin Jetting® it is expected that at least 80% of people will be pleased with the results they have achieved.
The length of time that is required for the results to be seen is also variable. As BioSkin Jetting® relies on the body's own healing processes, it is unlikely that improvement will be seen before at least 6-12 weeks after treatment. In addition, as noted above, the health of the client and their lifestyle also affect the results. Also, once a course of BioSkin Jetting® has been performed, it is impossible to predict exactly how long the good results will last. Research has indicated that good results last anything between 3 months and 2 years.
Some indicators that are often present in those who only see improvement over the shorter term, such as three to six months, are exposure to smoking, sunbathing, illness or stress. Of course natural ageing also has an effect, particularly over one to two years.
This technique is used alongside BioSkin Jetting® to help tighten and lift fine lines and wrinkles. It is a radio frequency skin heating technique that improves blood circulation, stimulating collagen production prior to the BioSkin Jetting®, complementing this treatment.
As well as being a useful adjunct to BioSkin Jetting®. BioSkin Smoothing® can also be used to treat atrophic scars such as pits due to acne and chickenpox as well as hypertrophic scars, which are scars that have become lumpy and overgrown.
Before any treatment is carried out, one of our clinicians will assess any client problems at a consultation and will decide whether BioSkin Jetting®, BioSkin Smoothing® or a combination of both would be most appropriate.
Regardless of which technique or combination is used, it is essential that clients follow after care instructions to promote good healing and limit the risks of any pigmentation.
To get the maximum benefit, clients require a course of between 5 and 7 treatments.
BioSkin Jetting® may be uncomfortable for some people and so we may routinely offer an anaesthetic gel that is placed on the skin 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure. Some clients do not need this and prefer to avoid it. Local anaesthetic injections are available at an additional cost but are rarely required.
Following treatment with BioSkin Jetting®, a fine red line along the line or wrinkle should appear. This is a good sign and shows that the circulation locally has been stimulated and will therefore encourage the production of collagen. This pink line should gradually fade over a period of 3 to 7 days.
During the treatment course, it is essential that clients avoid ultraviolet or sunlight exposure and use sunblock to cover the red lines. Failure to do this can result in the red line becoming pigmented and turning brown. Although such pigmentation can be reduced through peels and massage, it can be difficult to fade completely and may be permanent.
In clients with very sensitive skin, there can be a small amount of swelling occasionally, and even less often, a little bruising in the treated area. This is normal and will usually disappear over a few days. The body is very good at healing such injuries and the best results occur if the areas are left well alone and are not touched.
As aftercare leaflet is given to all clients to remind them of the instructions given by the clinician. This will help to give the very best chance of getting the results they wish from the treatment.
